We strive to publish compelling, relevant, and thought-provoking content that stimulates discourse and advancement within medicine and medical sciences. The scope of our publication reflects these objectives, guiding our assessment of submitted work.
We prioritize courtesy, honesty, and fairness in our interactions with authors, providing timely processing, constructive feedback, and correcting errors with integrity. Authors must avoid plagiarism, fraudulent submissions, or submitting to multiple journals simultaneously. Compliance with our Guidance for Authors is essential. We encourage proactive communication to address any concerns during submission.
Our review process is transparent, and we try our best to update the authors step by step during the process. Authors can always appeal editorial decisions, which are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief and relevant Editors. Should complaints arise, we try hard to resolve them promptly and fairly, involving consulting the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and their code of conduct if necessary.
Ethical publication practices are crucial and key to our journal. We address issues like authorship, dual submission, plagiarism, and competing interests following COPE standards. Editors and reviewers conflicts of interest are managed transparently, maintaining confidentiality throughout the review process.
We acknowledge the potential for honest errors in research and publication, as we are all humans after all. We pledge to address them openly and promptly. Corrections and retractions are issued as necessary, adhering to COPE’s guidelines and linked to the original articles for transparency.
By collaborating with our diverse community of researchers, clinicians, and scholars, we aim to advance medical knowledge and improve healthcare outcomes in the Middle East and beyond.
